Ancient Maya Mathematics and Culture in Quintana Roo, Mexico
A course for the students of Professor Elana Epstein, St. Joseph's College, New York

This seven day course is designed for college level students to learn about ancient Maya mathematics and culture. Exploring ruins combined with onsite lectures will give participants the chance to interactively learn in the very places where ancient sciences were flowering. In addition to exploring the past of Quintana Roo, visits to modern Maya communities and schools will investigate just how much of their ancestral knowledge survives into today. The MEC instructors who will lead the course are respected and renowned scholars from the field of Ancient Maya Studies.

9-12pm: Visiting schools in Maya communities

2-4pm: Return to Puerto Morelos

9-12pm: Meeting teachers and students from Puerto Morelos high schools

2-3pm: Discussion led by Prof Epstein
6-8pm: Closing ceremonies
