The Ancient Maya and Natural Beauty of Belize
A Maya Exploration Center travel course led by Dr. Michael Grofe

This course is designed for students of varying levels to learn about the Ancient Maya and diverse ecology of Belize. The week with start with visits to three ancient Maya ruins, including the remote and massive city of Caracol. In the southern town of Maya Centre, participants will attend an all day Maya hieroglyphic workshop with local Belizean students. Other activities during the week will include tubing underground rivers, jungle hikes to see wildlife, swimming under remote waterfalls and reef snorkelling. Dr. Grofe's personal research on Maya civilization will be an invaluable soure of learning all along the journey.
